TOKI Masterplanning

AVCIARCHITECT’s winning entry for the first ever sustainability-oriented TOKI competition proposed human-scale facilities around shared courtyards in an eco-friendly community. In addition to residences designed in a community-oriented, sustainably built manner, the scheme proposed that the site’s pre-construction agricultural activities would continue in harmony with the new local residents.

TOKI, Turkey’s national housing authority, is responsible for the ubiquitous spread of commercial mass housing throughout the country. We were encouraged that TOKI’s competition directed resources toward the design of sustainable mass housing design in Turkey, we continue to look forward to further movement in this direction.
