Burcu Tınaz has been working as an Architect at Avcı Architects since 2024. She graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Architecture, in 2017. After graduation, she gained professional experience working on projects of various scales and functions, where she focused particularly on implementation processes.

Her notable works include O2–O3 Villas in Bursa (selected for the 2024 Arkitera Architecture Yearbook), national and international architectural competitions such as the Lüleburgaz Korean War Museum, Bursa Sports Complex, and several cultural and educational facilities, as well as interior design projects including SMT House, KG Headquarters Office, and the TH Sirkeci Hotel Renovation.

Her architectural approach emphasizes sustainability, seeking to integrate traditional materials with modern technologies and solutions. By placing people and nature at the center, she aims to create spaces that are both functional and aesthetically refined. For her, the most critical stage of the design process is contextualizing the project within all its parameters—function, user, time, place, budget, and emotion. She believes that a design detached from its context and users, no matter how aesthetic, cannot be considered architecture but rather sculpture. Passionate about history and preservation, she finds restoring and re-functionalizing historical buildings more exciting and challenging than creating new ones.

Outside of architecture, Burcu enjoys traveling and exploring history.
