From Industry to Atmosphere: A Holding’s Spatial Identity

In Gaziantep — a city shaped by productivity, tradition, and entrepreneurship — the headquarters of Gülsan Holding had to do more than accommodate desks and departments. It needed to become a cultural home, a representation of its founder’s values, its team’s momentum, and its future ambitions.

The guiding spatial idea is deceptively simple: a courtyard, or hayat as known locally, around which life unfolds.

At the heart of the building, this atrium becomes the soul — a place of light, interaction, and daily rhythm. Office floors, co-working areas, and social spaces flow around it, never losing sight of this shared core.

“A strong center brings people together. Architecture just makes that visible.”

Workplaces with Warmth

Each office floor is organized with clarity and care:

  • Open-plan zones designed for focused work, layered with soft acoustic solutions
  • Phone booths and breakout corners integrated into circulation paths
  • Natural materials — oak, linen, wool, brushed aluminum — define a calming interior tone
  • Managerial and executive offices subtly anchor each floor, without hierarchy or separation
  • Flexible meeting rooms with custom writable walls, acoustic ceilings, and soft seating

The spatial hierarchy is human, not corporate — designed around comfort, collaboration, and coherence.

 Common Spaces, Everyday Culture

The building offers more than workstations — it fosters shared time:

  • A two-story reception hall, bathed in daylight and layered with local textures
  • A co-working wing for visiting teams and flexible use
  • A company exhibition zone, telling the story of Gülsan through displays and curated objects
  • A series of communal kitchens, dining zones, and terraces designed for informal interaction

Meeting rooms vary in size and spirit — from a flagship 20-person boardroom to modular conference halls, all tailored for acoustic comfort, visual calm, and spatial dignity.

“A Courtyard for Contemporary Business — Rooted in Place, Designed for People.”

Social Infrastructure: Not Extra, Essential

In today’s workplace, wellness is not a bonus — it’s a baseline. Gülsan HQ embodies this through:

  • A two-level local unit, including:
  • Fitness center with weight, cardio, and yoga zones
  • Game lounge with billiards and table football
  • Social TV and seating area
  • Fully equipped locker and shower areas
  • Dining areas that double as gathering spaces, adorned with natural stone, terrazzo, and soft acoustic ceilings
  • A staff canteen and guest restaurant designed to blend modern hospitality with domestic comfort

Each area is crafted to support the informal rituals of working life.

A Palette Rooted in Place

Gaziantep’s streets — its stones, sun-washed walls, and textiles — inspired the project’s material language:

  • Natural oak wood, reflecting local crafts
  • Terrazzo floors and patterned stone from Anatolian quarries
  • Subtle textiles from Turkish manufacturers
  • Warm, soft lighting balanced with daylight from skylights and clerestories

 Leadership with Layers

The top two floors are dedicated to executive use — but not in isolation. Instead, they serve as a dialogue space between vision and operations.

Each board member office is designed with a mood, not a status. Two distinct interior concepts — Contemporary and Classic — offer tonal flexibility. Meeting zones, hospitality corners, and back-of-house privacy corridors allow the space to flex between leadership, hosting, and reflection.

This is not mimicry — it’s a translation. A way of embedding local identity into global functionality.
