IN THE VORTEX OF CHANGE
This immersive exhibition contrasts natural and human-induced transformations through a spatial narrative shaped by color, symbol, and sequence. At its core lies the “vortex,” a dynamic hub from which visitors explore ecosystems, confront environmental impact, and ultimately face a collective call to action.
The design of the exhibition *In the Vortex of Change* draws inspiration from its content: it juxtaposes changes that are part of nature or its cycles with those brought upon nature by human intervention. The former, natural changes, are represented in green; the latter, human-induced changes, are in red. The very environment of the exhibition thus begins telling the story through colour. A further warning about the dangers of human interference is communicated through the symbol for danger – a cross – X – which appears throughout the exhibition in various dimensions.
Spatially the exhibition is structured n such a way that after an introductory section, the visitors find themselves in the “vortex of change,” from which they enter respective natural habitats and then repeatedly return to »the vortex«..The exit is organized through a spatial quiz about our treatment of the environment. The visitors are faced with a choice: will they help preserve nature, the planet, and life on it—or contribute to its destruction?
