İZMİR SUSTAINABILITY CENTRE
The Izmir Sustainability Office is designed as a living laboratory for sustainable work environments, where architecture, technology, and ecology converge. More than a workplace, it stands as a model for how corporate interiors can seamlessly integrate energy efficiency, employee well-being, and ecological awareness into daily operations, while also inspiring a culture of responsibility for future generations.

Envisioned as a manifesto for sustainability, the office embodies environmentally responsible design decisions that both minimize carbon footprint and foster a culture of awareness.
Integrating City and Workplace
The Izmir Sustainability Office is conceived not only as a workplace, but as part of a broader urban masterplan. The design prioritizes pedestrian flows, green corridors, and connections to public transport, creating a seamless link between the office and the city. Sustainable strategies such as local planting, natural ventilation, and renewable energy integration ensure environmental responsibility. Ultimately, the masterplan positions the project as a catalyst for sustainable urban living in Izmir.

The plan responds to the triangular site by aligning with the urban boulevard while opening toward the river, organizing public and private spaces to balance accessibility, views, and privacy.
Designing for Energy and Wellbeing
Maximized daylight, low-emission finishes, and smart climate systems ensure both energy efficiency and user comfort, reducing the building’s environmental footprint while enhancing everyday usability. Acoustic solutions and ergonomic furniture further support focus and productivity, while generous planting, indoor gardens, and natural textures create a biophilic atmosphere that promotes psychological wellbeing, connecting employees with nature even within a corporate setting.

The İzmir Sustainability Office’s massing grows from a linear spine into terraced, porous volumes wrapped in a double-skin façade, blending workplace, ecology, and public life into a regenerative urban landmark.
Architectural Massing Concept
The İzmir Sustainability Office grows from a linear spine extending to the waterfront, forming a civic axis and public screen. Terraced volumes and green roofs break down scale, enhance daylight, and foster recreation. A double-skin façade ensures climate performance, while porous galleries connect inside and out. The result is a layered, ecological, and socially engaged urban organism.
